We are all feeling the "burden at the pump", and it doesn't look as if things are going to get better before they get worse.  But can't we make something positive out of a huge wide-pread negative?   Check out these tips to not only save you a few bucks at the gas station, but also kick-start your fitness training and meal planning programs!

Bike or Walk To Work - Not feasible for everyoneI know, but it may not be as far out of reach as you think.  I personally know someone who bikes 10 miles each way to work everyday!  How close are you to your job?  How important is fitness training and weight loss to you?  Just keep it in mind.  You may find it very rewarding in the end.  Also, it doesn't have to just be work...bike or walk to the store, to get your kids from school, to go to church...everyone has a different situation, but biking or walking can improve your fitness training routine and may be a nice way to have some family time.

Ask Your Boss To Go Into Work Late and Stay Later at Night - This requires some flexibility on you and your boss's part.  If you can get this to work you will save on gas avoiding the stop-and-go traffic on both ends of the day, and you can take the extra time in the morning for meal planning and the time at night for fitness training (or vice versa).

Go to The Gym After Work - Find a gym near your work, and spend time there instead of in traffic sitting on your butt talking on the phone.  By the time you are done with your fitness training routine, traffic will clear and you will be on the road traffic free...saving $$ on gas!
