Big Applause for New York Governor |

Did you see the proposed "fat tax" by the governor of New York? Put a 15% tax on non-diet sodas and other sugary drinks that contain less than 70% fruit juice. There is opposition to the tax as you can imagine...that it is unfair to single out sodas - but forget that...you have to start somewhere.
There was a lot of opposition to cigarette taxes, and there has been a lot of legislation that has hindered the use of cigarettes. There is truly no caloric value to sodas, and I like the governors action - it is a step in the right direction.
I think we should tax the following...
- Foods over a pre-determined amount of saturated fat - Dairy products - Candy
Why not? America is 2/3's fat!!! America's youth is the fastest growing segment in the obesity "race". If we don't do something drastic, our future is bleak.
Take a stand. Make a change in your lifestyle.
