It is almost as if a cup is not a cup, and a pound is not a pound anymore.  Society, advertisers, marketers, the media, food producers and the entire restaurant world has Super-Sized our meals!!   What was once a serving of chicken is now 3x magnified - and everyone is getting fatter and optimum nutrition is declining!  And it is getting worse, not better.

Did you know...

- A Super-Sized Meal at McDonalds - Big Mac and Fries with a Coke is 1440 Calories!  Some people don't need that many calories in a day, much less one sitting!  If you have to go to McDonalds exercise better meal planning, choose Asian Grilled Chicken Salad, Apple Dippers (leave out the dip), and a bottle of water - 325 Calories!!

- Most large Pizza delivery boxes don't fit in the average refrigerator!  Causing numerous back problems for pizza delivery guys, I am sure!  To ensure optimum nutrition if ordering pizza (let's be honest, we all like a good pie sometimes!), order thin crust pizza with light cheese - If you ask, they will do it!

- Most Restaurants serve steaks from 6oz - 14oz, but a serving size is only 3oz!  At the very least cut it in half, eat half and save the rest for lunch the next day!  You will not enjoy pure weight loss eating restaurant servings.  Again, with better meal planning you can turn a nice dinner out into another nice meal the next day!

-There Are 25 SERVINGS in a Cheerios Box!  And the same holds true for most cereals.  Each serving equivalent to about a handful of cereal!  What do you put in your bowl for breakfast?

Meal Planning is just that...taking time to plan each meal - read labels, adjust portions accordingly, and make sure you know what you are putting in your mouth to ensure optimum nutrition and calorie control!
