What is Your Motivation Level? |

We are all motivated by various factors...some internal, some external. Some things excite you and others bore you to sleep! In my years of experience in the personal training industry I have found that motivated individuals SUCCEED and non-motivated individuals fail with exercise plans. So what is your motivation level? And more importantly, what factors are going to drive your motivation up and keep it there?
Maybe you are one of the few lucky ones who can go to the gym every day and complete your exercise plan without ever skipping a beat (there aren't many of them, so don't count on it!!). At the other end of the spectrum lies the person who needs a personal training appointment, needs someone there telling them what to do, pushing them, encouraging them. But the cost for personal training these days is so high, it is tough for most people to fit into their budget on a consistent basis.
What I have found is that most people fall somewhere in the middle...you know, those who are motivated enough to get to the gym...not all of the time, but regularly. Or if you they lucky enough to have a friend to workout with who keeps them coming on the days they would normally choose to stay in bed. Whatever the case, it is the majority of people! So what is the problem? Why is America getting fatter, and lazier?
I believe all of these people have good intentions, but just lack a fitness training plan...a curriculum to follow! How well would kids do in school if teachers didn't provide a curriculum? It would be chaos, right? Nobody would learn anything, and it would be a waste of time! In the fitness training world this leads to inconsistency and eventually the termination of ones fitness training program. So my advice is to get an exercise plan! Find it on the web, ask friend, hire a trainer (if you are fortunate enough to have the resources!), whatever you do, do not walk into the gym without an exercise plan!
