The Holiday Pounds Start With Halloween - Beware! |

We all think of the "Holiday Season" beginning right after Thanksgiving and traditionally that is probably true...but when it comes to talking about the average 15 pounds people gain over the holidays - it starts this week with Halloween!
Think about it: your kids bring home dozens upon dozens of candy bars, sugar sticks, and taffy just waiting for consumption. So while 15 pounds seems like a lot to some people, take a look at this math...
61 days between Halloween and New Years Day. Snickers Fun Size Candy Bar - 72 Calories 5 pieces (or equivalent) per day = appx 6 pounds of weight gain alone!
Then take into account the holiday cookies at home, the goodies brought to the office, the holiday parties...and the list goes on! It is easy to see how someone can gain this type of weight.
So stay active, or get active...now is the time to be burning calories. I have said it many times over, and I will keep driving it all the way through the holiday season hoping that I get at least one of you (although I expect hundreds) to take the next step.
