I am reminded of a story a client of mine once told me...

Originally from Michigan, he picked up and move to Seattle to attend college at The University of Washington in the 70's.  His father was a successful professor and businessman and had made many wise stock investments - IBM, McDonalds, WalMart, etc...all did very well in the 80's.  One day he called his father and told him about a small coffee shop in Seattle that was going to go public and urged his dad to buy stock in the company...a little place called Starbucks.   He said he will never forget his father's reply "Coffee?  Can't people make their own coffee?"

It appears that they can't, but we may be forcing ourselves into it.  Starbucks has announced it will be laying off 6700 people, closing 300 stores, and holding off on the opening of 60 more stores...all due to a decline in sales.

This is due to people pinching pennies...but will this save many Americans a few pounds as well?  From what I have seen with the Triple Mocha Frappucinos with extra whipped cream - I think it will.
